In todays lesson, Simon assigned us a task of directing 3 stories, which were:
     - Writing a note and throwing it in a bin
     - Holding books and tripping over, dropping the books
     - Waiting around looking at a watch

We were put in groups of 3 where we all filmed, directed and acted, depending on which story. I worked with Danny and Vic and done the 'writing a note and throwing it in a bin' task, which you can watch by clicking on the link at the top of this post.

Conclusion

In general, I feel that this task helped me in terms of directing. It allowed me to gain experience in terms of what to do with the camera as well as getting as much coverage as possible so that I have enough for editing. Although it was only a simple story, there are so many ways of filming in addition to adding a genre to the story. For example, I aimed to make mine dramatic, whilst other students aimed to make theres comedic.

The feedback I received was good - Simon told me that I had a lot of coverage which is always good when filming so that you don't run out of film when editing. The improvements I was given was to be more careful when using the camera - the zooming was inconsistent and would zoom in and out at a different and awkward pace. This is similar in terms of editing, but of course this could be perfected if I had enough time, considering that this was only a task for the day!
