What Will Be in Our Promo/Teaser?
Now that we've finished our news channel, we now need to create a promotional teaser. This however isn't a major problem as we've basically already created one before the news story start at the studio - it shows the upcoming stories on the news programme which is similar to a teaser. The only difference is that we will need voice overs and to frame the teaser so that it says 'coming up later' or 'later tonight', for example.
The whole purpose of the teaser is to grab our audience's attention to make sure that they watch our news for when it is aired on television. This means that we need to be careful on the footage we use as we only have around half a minute for the teaser, meaning that every piece of footage must be eye catching, clarifying and grab our audience's attention. This means we should include footage such as:
- A voice over saying that they can learn to make this for a cheap
budget by watching the news. This is to tell the audience what actually is coming up
- Shots of our finished products, so that they want to learn how to cook the finished products.
- Both Natasha and Dave reporting, to show who are reporters are.
- Clips of someone taking a selfie, to relate to the selfie story
- Snippet of shopping at Lidl: may make people wonder what we are buying from Lidl
The audio we will be having is:
- The same jingle and intro which we've used for the news package
- Voice overs saying:
- "Coming up on SVTV"
- "Can students cook a decent meal on a low budget?"
- "And is snapchat becoming a growing distraction for students?"
- " Join us at six today where we'll be find out!"
- "Can students cook a decent meal on a low budget?"
- "And is snapchat becoming a growing distraction for students?"
- " Join us at six today where we'll be find out!"
The promo also must remain conventional for a news promo. This means our logo must be evident. As well as this, we've also added in similar strap lines our original news package (the same fcp preset, font and colour).
