What Was Our Feedback?
As we are now on the last week for this project, me and Kate decided to talk to Helen to get some feedback on our project. We had just finished forming our studio and cooking story scenes so showed this to Helen to see what she thought. Below are her comments and how we can improve our project:
- Sound track for our cooking story. Helen suggested that we needed some audio to give the
cooking story a bit more depth and to help to add to the cooking idea. She suggested that we could
use iconic nationality audio of the foods we are cooking. For example, the beer chicken would be
american, the kofta burger greek, etc. Therefore, Kate and I will be researching royalty free music
which we can use as background music whilst we are cooking these two meals.
- As our first edit was around 3 and a half minutes, Helen said that we'll have to cut it down to meet
the times which we were set (2 and a half minutes max). Therefore, we've decided to get rid of
one of our meals to shorten it down, therefore we will be removing the florentine pizza. This
enables us to expand more on our two meals so that we can meet the target time.
- Helen suggested that we could have a 'cook cam' graphic for when we use the GoPro. This
triggered me to think we could use this for our snapchat story swell, and also have a 'Selfie cam'
when the GoPro footage is being used. This shows consistency throughout our news channel plus
just adds a little extra feature to our branding, making slightly more interactive. Therefore, I will
be adding this feature in to all the footage on when the go pro is being used.
- She then generalised saying that it's coming across really well which is a relief. As well as all
these points, she mentioned that we should make sure our audio and cropping is consistent
throughout our news report.
What Are Our Last Changes?
As well as this feedback, we've also got a few changes ourself, which are:
- To remove the idea of creating a website, and instead just use YouTube. This will save us lots of time as we won't have to design a website from scratch, which is essential as time is crucial for this last week.
- We've set each other tasks again, which are:
- Kate: Editing studio and cooking story. Work on promo video
- Sam: Editing our additional video, creating a Facebook, Twitter and Youtube account for
our news channel
- Me: Edit the Snapchat story, decide on which soundtrack to use, going through Kate's edit
once she's finished, touches on the graphics. Work on promo video
