As I plan to film for the following weeks, I've decided to note down what exactly I'm going to ask my interviewees, as well as the general tone of interviewing. However, below is the people whom I will be interviewing.
Who Will I Be Interviewing?
Angela Harvey (female character/narrator)
Angela Dyson (female character/narrator)
Marcus Massey (male character)
Luke McGibney (male character)
I've decided to narrow down my choice to these applicants as I felt the others wouldn't suit the role for various reasons, such as:
- Availability
- Generally not as strong as the chosen applicants
- Loss of interest e.g. no response
- Lack of experience/confidence
Interview Questions
Below are the basic questions which I will be asking my interviews. I will most likely ask extra questions if needed.
Female Character/Narrator
- Have you had any past experience with adaptation pieces before? If so, what have you done?
- Do you feel that you can work closely with a male character, as my film involves the female
character to be in a relationship?
- Do you feel confident with showing sad emotions, and are you able to adapt to this?
- Have you had any narrating experience before hand? If so would you be able to give me an
example?
- What days are you free between the 10th - 24th November for filming?
- Are you able to be able to travel around the Medway area, as I will be filming in Rochester and
Chatham?
- Do you have a nurse outfit, or know anyone who may?
- Do you have any questions?
Male Character
- Have you had any past experience with adaptation pieces before? If so, what have you done?
- Do you feel that you can work closely with a female character, as my film involves the male
character to be in a relationship?
- Do you feel confident with showing sad emotions, and are you able to adapt to this?
- What days are you free between the 10th - 24th November for filming?
- Are you able to be able to travel around the Medway area, as I will be filming in Rochester and
Chatham?
- Do you have a soldier outfit, or know anyone who may?
- Do you have any questions?
As well as these questions, I will begin to explain on the story and what exactly I am trying to show, as well as anything extra to allow my interviewees about how I want to film and what (and the script if they don't already have it).
Extra Information
I will also tell them the following information:
- Asking them if they understand the script, and going through the script with them.
- That I will need 3 days maximum for filming with the female character, and 2 days max for the
male character
- I will need to take an image of the couple together to allow the photo scene to work
- An extra day for filming for the female character to enable the narration to take place
- That you are likely in need to have a car to get to the locations easily.
- Filming won't be after any later than 4pm, as I need the light to film.
- To bring a 1910s outfit if they have one, which can relate to my film.
