Where Are We Filming?

As we are filming the following week,  I've decided to list the locations which we will be using as well as explaining why we will be there.

Colleague's Student House (Sam) Upper Fant Road, Maidstone, Kent.

For both our stories and our studio, we will be filming at my colleague Sam's student house. We will be using his:

Street we're filming on, taken from Street View
Living room: So that we can film our live interview for our Snapchat story. We decided to use this location as it is quite open spaced and will allow not only our interviewee (and reporter) but our audience as well to feel more relaxed and comfortable due to it being filmed a homely environment. Additionally, we aim to place the interview with our reporter and interviewee sitting down, to reinforce this idea of a relaxed environment. The living room too looks like a student living room which therefore helps to relate to our student channel thus our audience.

Sam's Bedroom: Firstly, we haven't necessarily used this room due to the fact that it is a bedroom. It was the best place in the house for us to set up our studio, as it had a large space where the windows were where we could put a desk and a chair and use to begin to set up our studio. We decided to make it personal and deliberately wanted to set our studio up in the student house as it makes it more relatable for our student audience.

Kitchen: And finally, we will also be using the kitchen of course to enable us to film our meals for our cooking story. We decided to use this kitchen purely because the kitchen generally looked like a decent sized and good looking kitchen to enable us to film our meals. As well as this, you can sort of gain an idea that it is a student kitchen due to it being quite untidy and slightly dirty, which students may be able to associate this to as there kitchen could be similar.

Aldi Supermarket, Maidstone

This location will be used to enable us to get footage for our cooking story. We plan to get a GoPro and strap it to our reporter's head so that we have enough footage to create a time lapse, showing that our reporter has gone out shopping to get the ingredients needed for our cooking film.

This location will be used to enable us to introduce both of our stories. We aim to have both of our reporters standing or walking on the street (at different parts of the street, however renaming consistent). For example, to introduce our SnapChat story, we will be using the high street to show Natasha walking towards the camera, to look like she is actually walking to go meet our interviewee. This may also be used for a similar approach on our cooking story - we may use the hughstreet to show our reporter going to go shopping to get the ingredients for our meals (however this will be notified if we do or do not use it)

Conclusion

To conclude, this is all of the locations we will be using. Luckily they are very convenient and we don't have to worry about moving from location to location with all of our camera gear. This too will generally give us more time to film, which means more time to make sure that we get more than enough footage needed.
