As mentioned in my previous presenter post, we are advertising for our presenter online. Below is an application I created on the website Casting Call Pro, where we hope to receive interests then lead into interviews:

Advert Success
After just a couple of days of putting up my advertisement I received one person whom is interested in the project. My general thoughts on Abdoulie (shown below) were quite positive - he focuses in speaking which is essential for a presenter, loves to be on camera and is a suitable age (25 years old). Therefore, I have decided to email him back saying that I am interested in his application and will then talk to him about a future interview.

Applicant Task
As my group and I got back together, we decided that instead of having an old-fashioned interview, we will instead set the applicants a small task, judging their ability as a presenter. This is what I sent to Abdoulie, regarding the task (which was also sent to the other applicants) :
"Hi Abs,
I have discussed with my group and we came up with an idea which allows us to see if you are suited for the part.
Would you be able to film yourself and send to us an example of you reading a news report? It can be completely made up, copied from a real report or anything you want. We simply just want to gain an idea on what you would be like.
It can be a happy, balanced or sad story - whatever you feel like you can do best. However as our news channel is a students news channel, it would be helpful if you could try and aim this at a younger/student audience!
If you have any further questions then feel free to email me. This doesn't have to be mastered or perfected - the story isn't entirely necessary as we just want to see what you are like on camera and what you are like as a presenter.
If we feel that this task you complete is strong enough, then we might not need to interview you, however would be logical to meet up before filming so we can inform you in person on what exactly we aim to do.
Once you have completed this then send it to me ASAP. My group and I are aiming to make a decision on our presenter by this time next week (Monday 27th October) as we now aim to film the following week after next (3rd - 16th November) however these dates will be confirmed soon.
I hope you understand this task and am interested to see what you are like!
Good luck!
Kind Regards
Sam."
I will continue to update the cast progress on my blog, as well as putting up what my applicants came up with on my blog, so keep your eyes peeled!
