As the final week before our deadline arrives, our project has faced undergoing changes which i will list in this post.

What's different?

Change in Filming Dates

All in all, my group and I didn't stick to the updated time schedule in terms of filming. This was mainly because the days which we originally picked for filming were not accessible for either some members of our crew or for Jake, due to people having work etc. We also filmed everything in 4 days instead of 5 - this is because we were close coming up towards the deadline so couldn't find another day to film plus we didn't need the extra day as we managed to fit everything in.

Introduction Change

After attempting to make an introduction, we came to a conclusion that we wanted to try something slightly different, however still have the same 'montage' structure. Instead, we wanted to create a similar style like the popular programme X factor - creating a sped up montage of some of the interviewees, however only for a couple of seconds. This will then interlink with all the interviews so it looks as if we've asked lots of people the question about who their hero is. Once we have shown a number of interviews, we will then introduce our title '#SuperFans' where we will then use the thread which we filmed as the background.

Soundtrack

Because we were running out of time, my group and I have decided not to use a soundtrack, apart from for the introduction. This is mainly because we feel that the soundtrack isn't necessary for most of our documentary as everything seems as if it is already flowing well in terms of sound, meaning the soundtrack isn't entirely necessary. However for the introduction, we are aiming to use a soundtrack which is quite uplifting and catchy, which more importantly links in well with the introduction. This is where we agreed to use elevator music - it remains iconic and at the same time creates a casual and 'clumsy' feel to introduce our documentary. Below is an example of what we want it to sound like.

Individual Assignments

As we were running out of time, we thought it would be appropriate to split up and set tasks for each other, to make sure that we get all of the work done. Kate would start editing the documentary together whilst me and Aaron film the last day as well as sorting out the commentary, the script and any other extra parts relating to preparation.

Conclusion

At the moment, it is proving difficult and stressful as the deadline approaches. We have come across several problems such as finding the days to film meaning we would have less time to edit and work on our documentary. As it is around a week till the deadline, we are unlikely to create a rough and fine cut and instead just use one draft for our documentary. This means that we won't recieve any feedback for our project and would have to hand in the first draft as the final draft. Nonetheless, once we have completed and updated the script and completed transcripting, it will be much easier to put the edit together as you can follow the script, meaning our first draft should be considerably effective.
