How are we going to do it?
We wanted to follow the generic style of an ending - using it to conclude and act as a summary of what has been shown in our documentary. Meaning for our documentary, we are aiming to create a montage showing the key parts of our journey with Jake, whilst at the same time using any funny footage to make the conclusion end on a high note. For example, any mistakes Jake made whilst filming which we wanted to use.
More importantly, we want to use the ending to reflect on Jake as a super hero - almost using the ending to allow the audience to learn what exactly a super fan is. Additionally, the ending should also remain enigmatic - leaving unanswered questions for the audience about Jake, so that the documentary finishes with the audience stating their opinions, thus encouraging audience engagement with our documentary. It should however be used to reflect more on super fans instead of Jake - reminding the audience of how much a super fan Jake is, and what makes him different.
The montage should include a variety of bloopers and key aspects of the film, which are listed below:
- Jake holding the Gaga book to his face (like in the introduction)
- Getting the tattoo
- Gaga's tops
- Tweeting Gaga
- His art, books, any other fan products
- Parts of the thread
Below are some print screens showing which types of footage should be used (linking with what I've just listed)
