How did it go?

All 3 presenters found that we had a very strong idea with lots of potential - it hadn't been done before and the idea itself is very entertaining as people want to see how madly and over excessively people inspire to celebrities to make them their heroes.
The feedback we received too was very helpful as it gave us ideas on what to actually include in our script, and how we can use our super fans to create a more entertaining plot and exactly what we want to get from them. Below are some key points we received:
Key Points of Feedback
- Going an extra step to find the extremes and limits our fans have gone/would go to meet their hero: any stories which they have done (e.g. like the 1D fans hiding in a bin) or maybe what they would do (however this wouldn't be as effective as it is better to have a story instead of ambitions)
- The idea that are documentary follows a dramatic narrative: we have to keep the drama and intensity of the plot flowing throughout our narrative otherwise the audience may loose interest if the climax isn't fed through i.e. if everything surprising has been said at the beginning of the documentary.
- Trying to find a bodyguard or even management/promoters: Finding someone like this who is willing to be interviewed can perhaps go into depth on what they think of super fans, and even extreme stories of the extremes they'd go for, as previously mentioned. This is effective as it acts as a different point of view which additionally makes our documentary less fan-based and more neutral opinionated. Additionally, we could even ask the security firm at our university (Maidstone Studios) due to celebrities coming into the studios to record live shows
- Following on from the previous points, social networking sites such as Facebook and particularly Twitter could be used to directly contact celebrity agents or even security firms/promoters e.g. Tweeting those previously listed
- To influence the emotive tone of our documentary, we could even interview families/friends to see whether there are any effects of our character's admiration for fans. Has it effected their relationship physically, emotionally or even finically?
Conclusion
As mentioning earlier, we were pleased with our feedback and are happy that are idea is slowly coming into shape. However we are now going to try and find any security firms or agents who would be willing to share information with us which will be very difficult considering our fans' heroes are very popular and international, meaning trying to gain information will be complex. However, we could even ask smaller agents - as long as we find stories from agents/promoters where the celebrities are actually known celebrities, then it is likely that it will work. The bigger the celebrity, the better and more effective the story.
Furthermore, we have also taken into consideration the idea of the super fan themselves - the extremes they will go to and what makes them a super fan instead of a super fan. The idea of using families/friends too is very effective and we will be following this idea as well, to help make our documentary seem more emotive for our audience which additionally helps to let the drama flow throughout the programme.
