Brainstorming Sounds & Noises

To help me outline which sort of sounds to use, I've decided to brainstorm the image, writing down what sort of sounds and noises you would hear from the image:

Wintery wind sound - The sound of the wind breezing in the cold air. Potentially blowing the fresh snow on the floor
Traffic lights pole/bar creaking - This could happen with the sound of the wind blowing the pole steadily
Snow crumbling - Here i thought of the noise which happens when snow is being walked/drove on, seeing as there are people and a car evident in the image.
Clattering of cutlery - In the right of the image you can see that there is a restaurant. So here the sound of cutlery could be played weakly or an echo.
Drainage of hot air - Because theres a restaurant, lots of hot air will be leaving the restaurant. I'm not sure what its called but its almost like a manufactured chimney.
Traffic lights flickering - The sound of traffic lights flickering when the lights change.
Engine sound - An engine sound should occur and eventually faint in sound or become stronger, to show the presence of the car changing.
Snow falling on a car - Huge clumps of snow could be blown over from the top of a building and fall on a car. This isn't like a loud clamp, but instead the soft sound you hear when clumps of snow fall. The car seems more like a muscle/sports car so should have a loud tick over and evident rumbling sound. It should pull away slowly and sensibly due to the snow on the floor which could make the car spin.
Coach coming to a halt - Usually buses/coaches make a noise of relief when it stops. I think this links with the suspension stopping the vehicle.
Footsteps of several people on snow - Because there is a coach, the sound of people rushing of the coach could be evident, becoming fainter or closer.
Footstep noise changing - In the image you can see some parts of the floor not covered in snow, meaning there should be a change of walking on snow to walking on the pathway.
Noises coming from flats - The picture shows some flats with the lights on. This means people may be evident, so there could be a faint echo of people talking, or perhaps a TV or music.
Street lights flickering - It is hard to tell if the street lights are fully on or off. Perhaps they are slowly turning on or could be even be broken. Therefore, the flickering of the light bulb should be evident.
Noises from the cinema - Towards the back of the image you can see a cinema. This could consist of an echo from a show, or perhaps the noises of doors opening/closing as the time of the picture could link to the opening or closing of the cinema.
Tatoo Parlour - To the left of the image there is a tattoo parlour. Here you could hear the echo of people screaming in pain (because of a tattoo), or even potentially the noise of the tattoo gun whilst its on (buzzing noise)

Themes/Overall Ideas

When looking at the picture in general, it seems to be a quiet and small American town. Perhaps the rising morning or even the day darkening - it is hard to tell however it is clear that it is not at a busy time due to the lack of movement within the image. This means more natural sounds such as the wind or sounds in general which are quite quiet are more likely to be evident. Meaning, the sounds in the image must be precise and realistic as if you are in the image yourself.

As clearly evident, the picture has been taken within the wintery season. This in my opinion creates a clear opposition of cold vs hot - perhaps being on the street to being inside; an opposition of nature against being man made. I feel there are enough factors within the image to create these oppositions, which could be a potential theme or order for my sound design by creating a comparison of sounds which follow these oppositions.

Or alternatively, the order of the sound design could be picturing yourself in the picture yourself. This could be the person in the car, or instead someone walking down the street, as you can see in the image.  However if this is chosen, it may effect some of the other sounds. For example, in the car you may not be able to hear quieter sounds (i.e. the traffic lights flickering), as well as the sound of the engine being consistent throughout the picture. So, I may order the sounds as a pedestrian walking down the street, so that I can incorporate a variety of images as they appear on the picture.
