As part of our first year, as well as the production we are also set two essays based on theories discussed and shown in weekly lectures. The essay title is very vague and we basically get to talk about whatever we want, as long as the essay includes theories from our lectures and is based on one piece of moving or still image.

Below is my final draft of the first essay set. I chose my essay title to be based on  the film 'Trainspotting', where I discussed the theories of semiotics and alienation. After handing in my essay I received my results back where I received an A. This I was very happy with considering as I felt as if I could've done a lot more work on the essay but ran out of time to do so. This was also only my first draft meaning I probably could've done a lot better!
