Ringing Phone in Pocket Sound Effect

As John, the producer for DownStage answers his mobile phone twice to his mother, I thought it would be essential to research into how to perfect a sound effect of a phone ringing in a pocket before becoming clearer when it leaves John's pocket. Therefore, I began to research how to do this after downloading the typical iPhone ringtone.

My research eventually led me to a YouTuber who was using Premiere to muffle the sound of a gunshot. Although this isn't a phone, I watched the video to see whether it would be any benefit - which proved to be helpful.

The actions were actually quite simple - the video suggested to add a boost and treble effect onto the sound clip and simply increase the gain on the boost, and reduce the gain on the treble, as shown in then images below.
Here I added the Boost and Treble sound effects

And then set the boost to it's highest gain (24DB) and set the treble to it's lowest gain (-24DB)
However, as John will be pulling the phone from his pocket up to his ear, the muffling sound will have to be removed by the time it is pulled out of the pocket. So, I set up key frames to remove the effects of the boost and treble to parallel for when John reaches his phone out of his pocket, as shown in the image below:

So now that when he pulls his phone from his pocket the muffling sound becomes clearer, I then done the same with key frames to adjust the volume so it becomes louder as he pulls it out of his pocket, which too can be seen below:

And there we have it, an easy and basic effect which however will make it seem as if he is having an actual phone call, helping to enhance the realism of DownStage.
