How Are We Doing?

As a few weeks have gone by since our initial development, the show is slowly coming together and we (the VT team) are aiming to film next week. We've come across a few changes, such as:

Removing the 'Games Reaction' idea and replace it with a 'Politics' story

At a meeting, Helen mentioned that we will be removing the game reaction idea as there wasn't much to play with. This is mainly because our idea had already been used several times which can be seen on YouTube, and the idea of instead basing it on 'jump scare' seemed to similar. Therefore instead, the story about Al Murray running for MP for South Thanet against UKIP's leader Nigel Farage. This seems much more interesting and it is a hot topic, meaning something completely original. This therefore will be worked on as to what the VT team will be filming in relevance to this.

Apart from this, all other changes are only minor and don't have much relevance for the VT team. However, we have made some progress on the other VTs, such as:

Graffiti VT

We have confirmed a private tour for our VT to commence. The story isn't much different compared to our workshop script: we will be surprising our panelist on a graffiti tour and filming the tour with a journalistic approach: capturing the reaction whilst the tour commences. Dates for filming haven't yet been confirmed however will be in the next week or two.

Domestic Abuse

For this VT, we are going to run a practice run at our university some time this week. This is to enable us to make sure that we can run tests on the hidden cameras plus visuals, making sure we can perfect it for the actual run. Furthermore, the plan for this story is to let the prank happen at our university and to prank those who are being 'interviewed' for one of the panelists (the panelists have all been confirmed however some interviews do not know). This makes it much easier to control the filming environment instead of filming in a public area.

What Roles Do I Have Now?

Currently, I will still be researching on each story in terms of how they can be filmed. However I've asked the directors if they needed any help with the scripting, and have been assigned to create a script for the politics story for the directors to work on.

Some of the research I will be doing will be:

   - Studio Cameras: How studios are filmed: how many cameras there are, interesting shots, etc.
   - Hidden Cameras: where the cameras could be placed and how it can all be filmed
   - Research on lead cameras: the key roles and what makes it different to any other cameras
   - Research on the politics of Al Murray: what the story actually is
