Professional Practice: Interview Questions

What Questions Will I Be Asking?

As I've mentioned above, there will be a few interviews and VOX POPS which my film needs. Below are some of the questions which I'll be asking for each interview. There are generally quite a lot of questions and some of them can be combined and given one answer - these are only to give me and whomever I am interviewing a guideline as to what I am trying to get from the for my video. The locations for these interviews are all mostly clear - they will be filmed dependent on what the tourist attraction is, like shown on my script (e.g. the Submarine interview will be outside the submarine).

Submarine, Gannet & the Cavalier
   - Could you provide some background history behind 'x'. For example, 'x's age, what it was used
     for, etc. (i.e. filming on the Gannet)
   - Out of everything, why did you choose to work on the warships?
   - Do you enjoy working at the Historic Dockyard, if so, what makes it a good job?
   - What activities are based on these ships? (Cubs sleeping on the cavalier, for example)
   - Can any events be held on these ships? (I.e. Weddings on the Gannet)

Smithery
   - Why was this building created, and what is it used for?
   - What galleries will be shown this year?
   - What activities are based in the smithery?
   - Out of everything, why did you choose to work in the Smithery?
   - Do you enjoy working at the Historic Dockyard, if so, what makes it a good job?

Ropery
   - Could you show us how to make rope?
   - Would you be able to provide any interesting facts about the ropery? What roles did it serve
     during the world wars?
   - How long have you been working here?
   - Do you enjoy working at the Historic Dockyard, if so, what makes it a good job?
   - What made you want to work in the ropery? Is it important to you?

Festivals (VOX POPS)
    - Have you been to the Dockyard before?
    - Whats your favourite part of the day been?
    - Whats your favourite part of the Dockyard?
    - What has the festival got to offer? What have you seen?

Festivals (Staff/Volunteers)
    - Are there any other festivals?
    - What does the festival offer? What's the main attractions?
    - Do you enjoy working on these festivals?
    - Even though your working, do you learn anything whilst working on these events?

These interviews/vox pops' locations are all subject to change dependent on whom I can manage to get an interview from. However, I will try to think on the spot and position (the vox pops mainly) into a suitable location which can hopefully relate to the festival, and more importantly in a more controlled environment to reduce the chance of high noise or people interfering with the interview.

Future plans and the Preservation of the Dockyard (HOD interview)
    - Could you give me some information about the Command of Oceans Project?
    - Does this help to preserve the Dockyard?
    - Why was the Dockyard converted into a tourist attraction?
    - What does the Trust consist of?
    - Is there anything else interesting outside of the tourist site?
    - What else is based at the Dockyard?

Future plans and the Preservation of the Dockyard (Volunteer interview)
    - How long have you been a volunteer for? Do you have another form of work?  
    - What motivates you to work without being paid?
    - What made you choose working on the Life Boats? Is it a family tradition or simply because it
       interests you?

When looking at my script, I've mentioned that sone of these answers could only be used for a voice over (commentary). This is what I'm aiming for however I will be setting these commentaries like proper interviews purely for more coverage, so that I know I can fall back to the interview if need be.
