Was There Any Final Changes?

There were two last changes which I amended before publishing my final draft. These were:

   - Adding an introduction. For this, our class had to all submit the same introduction for all of our
work. We all came to the conclusion to use a mosaic montage of a one second clip or image of our
work, which you can see on my final film.
   - In the end I stuck with Angela's narration purely because she knows the poem the best out of
everyone and I felt that she conveyed the film through her narration.

What Were My Thoughts?

All in all, I am very pleased with my project. I feel that I have perfected it to a large extent and couldn't add much more to my film. I was happy with the majority of the footage plus happy with the editing which I have done. To me, I feel that my soundtrack too is very effective - Joe done an excellent job
with the soundtrack as a whole and it generally suited my film, as he managed to alter the soundtrack to suit the film (i.e. the soundtrack becomes faster as we learn about the death of her husband, thus relating back to her sadness and anger).

Moving on, both of my actors were excellent - Angela suited the role very well and easily showed a variety of emotions which too relate to the poem. This is the same for Marcus and they as a relationship for the film made it look very realistic that they were in love, which is exactly what I needed.

What Were the Main Problems?

I'm quite pleased to say that there wasn't actually any major problems with my film. There are a couple
of grainy shots and a couple which are slightly out of focus however this isn't too worrying that it didn't bring down the quality of my film. The only minor problem I can think of is that you see a car in the background of the shot when my male character fades away, however you only see a tiny part of this so once again isn't too worrying.

How Could I Improve?

However of course there is always room for improvement. Firstly, if I were to do this again I would definitely bring a crew with me to help remove the stress on me trying to get everything filmed on my own. This would've helped to reduce shots which are slightly out of focus as well as having the use of lighting which can be used to remove the grain from a couple of my shots.

As well as this, more time would've been useful as this would've enabled me to perhaps find a better narration and maybe even soundtrack, however I am very happy with both of these so aren't too bothered. Extra time is always useful, but I feel that I had just about enough time to film everything and get everything that I want.

Sticking to the same camera too would be an improvement I could use. Where my second day of filming was with with a Sony, you can notice that a different camera has been used which removes the consistency of my shots to a certain extent. For example, if I used just the Canon then I could've carried on the 'cinematic' effect better as the camera has much more visual to edit with compared to the Sony.

But to conclude, I am very pleased with this project. I've proved to myself that I can now work with the amount of time set which additionally has made me much more organised as I have more experience. As well as this, my editing skills have increased the most with this project - I feel more confident with After Effects and feel that I have used FCP's effects to my advantage, as I also feel confident with this software as well.

So now that I have finished both my projects, I'm already looking forward to the next unit of my course which is based on studio experience and development: creating our own studio by working in a large team where we get to choose what member of the cast we can be!
