After deciding which poem I was going to use, I begun by going through and writing down any notes which I think would help me in terms of understanding the poem itself and how I can adapt it for my film.

I have also done some extra research which you can see in my 'Significance of the Rose' and 'My Story Outline/Ideas' posts. However, below is a couple of extra points that I've noticed.
There is also a progression of time evident, as the poem goes from summer to autumn. This is evident from where it says "Flower following tender flower" - showing how the growth of the flowers are evident showing the change from summer to autumn. This could also personify the length of the war swell as possibly also personifying the death's of the soldiers, as autumn is much colder, possibly referring to how the war is becoming more 'cold' and horrid. This could be incorporated into my film as I could show symbolism of summer and autumn - telling my audience there is a progression of time, reinforcing the length of the war.
