Transcripting is a vital process for the editing stages of work as it allows you to organise exactly all of the commentary/sync which you have, so you know what you are going to use and where.

Therefore, my group and I have decided to type up all vital parts of our documentary footage (excluding unnecessary parts) onto a word document, which after completed we will then highlight and organise what part of the sync we are going to use and where.

Below is the transcript for each day of filming. I will also upload another blog post showing a photocopy version of the transcript once we have highlighted what we are most likely going to use and where we are going to use it.

Day 1 - Jake's House



Day 2 - Interviews

For this day, we didn't do a transcript. Instead, on Final Cut Pro, we organised each clip by the interviewee's name or who theyre hero was, as the transcript isn't entirely necessarily as we are making a montage. Below is a print screen showing how we organised each script.


You can see that the files are named dependent on the interviewee's name and the number of takes used to film their interview.
