Within the last couple of weeks, are documentary idea has faced a couple of major and minor changes, which you can see below.

'Girls Allowed' Tribute Band Progress

As mentioned in a previous blog post, my group and I wanted to include a girls aloud tribute band to film some actuality and so that are girls aloud fans can see their 'idols'. However, after getting in contact, we unfortunately cannot film the band due to them recently splitting up and being busy so that they cannot do any gigs. This is what they emailed me:

Therefore, this idea will have to be scrapped as we can't find any other tribute bands. Nonetheless, instead of this, we are planning on finding a venue where the girls have seen girls aloud live. If we find one and have permission to film at the venue, we are aiming to create a flashback scene - the girls will show us where they queued, stood when they saw the band etc. We will then cross-cut this by creating 'flashbacks' by using footage which the girls are likely to have or find some footage online, from a different fan.

Bouncer/promoter Progress

At first our group and I managed to find someone who seemed willing to be interviewed for our documentary. The bouncer had done security for the famous Stones and Roses meaning he was almost guaranteed to have a decent story to share with us. Nonetheless, despite him seeming passionate and wanting to participate, we sadly lost contact with the bouncer - he stopped responding to our messages and haven't heard from him in a couple of weeks.

Nonetheless, his responses were initially quite slow anyway, however we don't have enough time to wait for a response as his part in our documentary is crucial, and planning and preparation revolves around it.

So instead of this, our group and I are just going to focus on our two main characters, using the time of the bouncer equally to add on to our two characters. However, I still have created a advertisement on casting call pro (total talent) for the same job, which if we find someone willing to take part, we will revert back to our original plan of using a bouncer/promoter.

Below is a screen shot of the advertisement I created:

Potential Group Problems

When we thought are planning and preparation was running along smoothly, more bad luck came across us. A member of our group, Aaron, has unfortunately fallen quite ill, meaning his participation for our documentary has reduced massively due to him not being well. This has left the majority of the work to be completed by just me and Kate instead of having Aaron's help, making the work generally more pressuring and harder as there is more work to do now that there is only two of us. Therefore, Kate and I are now working together with some of Aaron's input if he recovers and can then again participate.

Form regarding what we want from our characters

On the plus side, Kate and I have also decided to create a form regarding what exactly we want from our characters. This idea was initially made to give to our characters so they know exactly what we want from them, and more importantly if they can grant permission to allow us to get this information from us, and if they can provide the information themselves. This is currently in progress however I will upload it to my blog when it has been created, as well as whether our characters allow us to follow through our intentions for filming.

Tutorial Feedback

This week, we had individual tutorials which briefly went over our progress with this unit. Helen mentioned that our group should create a schedule regarding what we are doing each week e.g. filming, editing, researching etc. This will be created shortly and too will be uploaded on to my blog.

Our script's first draft is also nearly finished - all which needs doing is going over what we want our commentary to be or at least a general idea of what we want. This too will be uploaded to my blog once it has finished.
