Like your everyday fan, most fans often like to discuss about their favourite celebrity or talk about any latest gossip/news, often through social networking sites such as twitter, Facebook etc. Additionally, some people even like to blog posts about them - basically as if its an online diary or journal.

However, Perez Hiltion, is one of the biggest known American bloggers and is known for his personality and frequent blog posts on his website 'perezhilton.com'. Now when you think of it, this arguably 'superfan' of the celebrity industry is now infact a celebrity himself which is ironic as he used to idolise celebrities himself.

The super journalist has just under 6 millions followers on Twitter and is also certified, meaning he is approved and basically famous by Twitter itself. Additionally, his website has been so successful that people argue that it is to be one of the most famous websites currently on the net.

Also known by his real name is 'Mario Armando Lavanderia Jr.' Perez's website stands out from any other fan website (which arguably isn't a fan site anymore and is instead an inspirer for instead his fans now, or instead a popular site for spreading the latest gossip) due to his web posts which follow his name i.e. 'Perezitos' or 'CocoPerez'. Generally, his website follows his own style making him instead a persona and for people to inspire to him, which too is ironic considering he once was a fan.

Additionally, Perez is also known for his 'doodles' and captions on tabloid photographs. But what has made him such a success and increasing popularity?

Of course, because he is indulging in celebrity gossip and news, Perez has been severely criticised for creating biased opinions and in some cases perhaps 'bending the truth' - making a huge story off the tinest things. His work is often similar to those found in Gossip magazines such as 'OK'.

Nonetheless, Perez also has some friendships and positives with some celebrities, such as Lady Gaga. This however opposes against his frequent criticism on some of Disney's biggest celebrities, such as Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus. In fact, huge celebrity Miley Cyrus often 'hates' on Perez through social networking sites such as Twitter, which therefore creates an opposition between him and several celebrities.

Below is a link of an example of one of Perez's controversy which he has stirred simply just for being opinionated:

Conclusion

To conclude, it is clear how fans themselves can become huge celebrities just from the use of the internet. This is also evident from 'Vine' stars such as 'Dapper Laughs' and 'Jerome', whom to have used the internet directly to influence their success.

When simply googling his name, you can see the amount of articles where celebrities are criticising the American blogger for his 'bitchiness' and for generally being a 'jerk' - he is clearly one of the biggest controversial bloggers which has work in a way to make him a celebrity himself, despite him making his success from the criticism of other celebrities.
