What did we do?

Whilst at the studios, our course leader, Helen, set us a task to create a short clip of an every day life event - anything which you would usually do to be filmed.

The idea of this is mainly to cover experience for actuality for our documentary, as we are filming something which is actually happening. We were originally meant to work with people who we are already working with, but instead I am working with Andrei due to my group being absent on the day.

Our Idea

So because we are filming something everyday, Andrei and I came up with the idea of using me getting on my motorbike and riding off - as if I was off on a journey. Originally, we were planning on showing the actual journey by attaching a GoPro to my helmet however because we were filming at night, the quality would be very low and grainy as the GoPro isn't exactly good in low light.

Below is our final draft of our project:

Conclusion

Overall, I feel that Andrei and I worked well and produced something subtle which however has a considerable amount of coverage of me and the bike. Additionally, this workshop additionally makes me feel more comfortable feeling actuality now that I know that the more coverage the better, as well as getting to grip with setting the camera up quickly yet effectively whilst something is happening. Thus, additionally being similar to the Canterbury workshop, actuality has to be filmed quick to make sure that you get enough evidence.
